Fear

My first experience at Kilauea was going out on the shelf to see the lava and being afraid a chunk of the Big Island would fall into the ocean. This type of picture really shows how this area of land is lower than the rest. A few years ago the whole chunk disappeared into the ocean. This occurrence wasn't highly publicized. I knew too much to trust that it would be safe.
